We follow the policies and good practice guidelines of British Gymnastics.
By booking or attending any Northern Hope Centre Limited, (also known as as Northern Hope Gymnastics Club or NHGC), classes or taking part in any event or competition under our Club banner, you accept the following terms and conditions.
General T&Cs
1. Gymnasts under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult to and from sessions. Your child(ren) is/are your responsibility until they are registered in the gym club.
2. You understand that gymnastics involves risks and that although mats and extensive safety equipment are provided, this may not prevent injury.
3. Under no circumstances should any gymnastics (or any other physical activity or sport) be undertaken in any other part of the club or premises, such as the parents’ room.
4. NHGC cannot accept any responsibly or liability for any items lost, stolen, or broken whilst on our premises.
5. Items left on the premises will be placed in unguarded lost property. Unclaimed items will be disposed of every school half or end of term.
6. If a child is unable to visit the toilet unaided, a parent/guardian must remain on site to assist.
7. Food and drink must not be taken into the gymnasium and should be left in the parents’ room. Other than in exceptional circumstances when non-leak containers will be allowed for water breaks (under the advisement of the Head Coach).
8. Gymnasts and / or parents must inform the coach of any injuries or illnesses they may have before the warm-up begins.
9. Please ensure that you arrive in time for your class to ensure that gymnasts get the most of out of their class and that they can complete the warm-up.
10. If gymnasts arrive more than ten minutes late for their class, they may be unable to take part on the grounds of health and safety.
11. Our aim is to progress our gymnasts to work towards appropriate level Competitions. Northern Hope Gymnastics Club will amend a gymnasts’ training schedules to suit ability, commitment, development and/or progress. This could mean an increase or decrease of hours. This is at the discretion of the Senior Coaching team.
11B.All gymnasts aged 10 and under must be brought into the gym building and collected directly from the gym building by a responsible adult. Gymnasts aged 11 and over may arrive at and leave the premises independently only where a parent or carer has provided written consent via the Parental Permission to Leave Unaccompanied Form. It remains the responsibility of the parent or carer to ensure safe drop-off and collection, and the club cannot accept responsibility for children who arrive or leave without appropriate supervision.
Membership
12. A) For all Squad Gymnasts It is compulsory to hold valid British Gymnastics and NHGC club membership to attend classes. Neither of which are refundable by the club
12. B) For Heroes / Beginner Gymnasts membership is not compulsory for the first month, however, memberships must be paid / obtained from the start of the second full month of attending.
13. Failure to pay memberships or monthly fees may prevent participation on booked classes or sessions.
14. All Gymnasts must be in suitable attire, such as leotard or in the case of the Heroes / beginner classes, leggings / shorts and a T-Shirt. Long hair must be tied up and safely out of the way. All jewellery, watches and piercings must either be removed or in the case of earrings be covered up before entering the gym as wearing these items may cause a danger to yourself or another gymnast. It may also invalidate your BG membership insurance.
15. It is your responsibility to notify NHGC of any changes to your child’s health, medical history, change of address and contact numbers.
Fees / Payments
16. Class fees are to be paid monthly, in advance, and become due on the 1st of every month. They can either be paid by Direct Debit, subscription via our management system, or in person.
17. As your monthly payment has been pro-rated over a 12-month period beginning in January, payment for classes are still to be paid for the months on July and August. Continual payment is required to secure your class place. Please note the fees have been calculated to include 6 weeks’ worth of holidays and/or emergency closures. Squad classes will run as normal through the school half-term holidays.
17a. Late collection charge: Failure to collect your child(ren) up after class on time may incur an additional £10 fee per session. This charge will be at the discretion of the Head Coach and becomes due the next working day and will be charged the same day.
18. Our policy is that refunds will not be given. If you are unable to attend your class, catch up sessions cannot be offered due to the need to comply with our gymnast to coach ratios.
19. Subscriptions are subject to automatic renewal, as managed by the Club. You may opt out of the auto-renewal at any point by contacting the club directly by email to admin@northernhope.co.uk using the subject header ‘Cancellation of class fees’ at least 7 days before the next instalment due date. Should a balance still be outstanding, the fee will become due for payment in full immediately.

Class cancellations
20. We reserve the right to cancel a class on the rare occasion that emergency circumstances arise – For example, inclement weather, flooding, guidelines issued by the government or British Gymnastics, etc. In these circumstances, refunds will not be given, but will be taken from the 8 weeks as stated in point 17 above.
Safeguarding, welfare, and behaviour
21. NHGC has a zero-tolerance approach to unacceptable verbal and physical behaviour directed towards staff and coaches. Club members or Visitors who abuse or who are disruptive to other members, class participants or staff may be asked to leave, and membership may be terminated.
22. NHGC reserves the right to permanently exclude members or class participants at its sole discretion.
23. NHGC takes the welfare of its members, gymnasts, and staff seriously and operates a robust safeguarding and welfare policy, details of such may be found on our website. Should you have any welfare concerns, our Lead Welfare Officer, may be contacted through email via welfareofficer@northernhope.co.uk
24. First Aid trained coaches and volunteers are present within every session. Any accidents/injuries are recorded, and parents/carers are notified, either at the time of the accident or at the conclusion of the session, depending on the individual circumstances.
Right to amend
25. We reserve the right to exclude any persons not adhering to our policies.
26. Northern Hope Gymnastics Club reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at its discretion and without notice. These Terms and Conditions supersede all former versions. Becoming a member or using Northern Hope Gymnastics Club equipment/premises constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
