Northern Heroes (Beginners)

Our Beginners Programme is the perfect starting point for children beginning their gymnastics journey. Gymnasts attend 1 hour per week, enjoying a fun and supportive environment while learning the fundamental skills of gymnastics.

These sessions are:

• Structured but playful, focusing on building confidence, coordination, and basic technique
• Run across our full range of equipment, giving gymnasts a chance to explore and enjoy the sport
• Delivered by our trained Young Leaders, under the guidance of fully qualified coaches
• Aligned with the Rise Gymnastics Badge Scheme, giving children tangible goals and rewards for their progress

This is not a talent development programme – it’s a space for children to enjoy gymnastics, stay active, and build solid foundations at their own pace.

We are proud to offer an inclusive environment. Our sessions are adapted for children with additional needs, and we warmly welcome parents to attend with more nervous children until they are settled and confident.

We regularly hold internal trials, and those who show particular aptitude may be invited to join Mini Elite or a Squad, depending on age. However, the emphasis here is on fun, fitness, and fundamental skill development – not pressure or performance.

We believe every child deserves the chance to fall in love with gymnastics – and that’s exactly what our beginners classes are for.
